- 1. Do I need an appointment?
- We recommend an appointment to ensure there will be a fitting room and consultant available to help you try on gowns. However, if you happen to stop by without an appointment we will always try to accommodate you.
- 2. How long does it take to get a wedding gown?
- Once a dress is ordered, it usually takes 4-6 months to arrive in our salon. Remember these gowns are not made until the order is placed. Once the gown arrives you should also allow 1-2 months for alterations; making the entire process 6 to 9 months long. This would be the ideal situation but we often do the process in less time, we just plan a bit differently. Many of our designers can do a “rush” on a gown. Once we have the arrival date of your gown we have you set your alterations appointment. Even though it may be months in advance, planning ahead with the seamstress helps to ensure you have times that will work with both of your busy schedules.
- 3. What if my wedding is in less than 5 months?
- We have many designers that are able to make a gown quickly. Sometimes there will be a rush fee incurred, but not always. Two of our designers specialize in heavier embroideries; these particular gowns are more time consuming with the work being done by hand, so these may be exceptions to quicker arrivals. However, another designer we work with was able to complete a gown in two weeks and we had it altered in one week! Depending upon the style, times do vary. As an alternative to ordering, we always have gowns that are being sold off the rack. Completion times for out of stock gowns are dependent on the seamstress’ schedule. For instance, we once had a bride buy her gown off the rack on a Sunday and with minimal alterations get married the following Saturday!
- 4. What should I bring to my appointment?
- We have strapless bras, bridal shoes and petticoats (slips) for you to try on with the gowns. The only things you may want to bring are photos and ideas of the style of gown you are looking for.
- 5. Do you carry alternative sizes?
- Our sample gowns, available for brides to try on, range in size from 8 to 12. Most of our gowns can be ordered in sizes 2-20. If you are in need of custom sizing (i.e. Petite) or a dress that is larger than a size 20, many of our designers are able to make your wedding gown based on your measurements and proportions.
- 6. Can I take pictures of the gowns I try on?
- To ensure the integrity of each gown, we sign contracts with our designers that do not allow for photographs to be taken before the gown is purchased. However, you are welcome to take as many photos of your gown once you have made your deposit.
- 7. Do you provide alterations at The Bridal Garden?
- Yes we do. Our seamstresses are independent of us but will meet you here at The Bridal Garden. Since the seamstresses are independent of us we do not profit from your alteration charges as most salons do. Also, our seamstresses only charge for what needs to be done; there is not a set package price. We recommend to our bride’s to budget $350.00 for alterations and pressing, this being the high average. Our alterations services are offered at our salon as a convenience to our customers, however, you are not required to use our seamstresses.
- 8. What is the average price of a bridal gown at The Bridal Garden?
- Our gowns range in price from around $1200 to $6500 with the average price of a gown being between $2500 and $3500.
- 9. How often do you get new gowns?
- We receive new gowns year round. New styles arrive weekly. If you didn’t find the dress of your dreams the first time in you may find it on your second or third visit.
- 10. How much time should I allow for ordering my bridesmaid dresses?
- Give yourself plenty of time for delivery and alterations: at least 4 to 5 months.
- 11. Are there any local wedding vendors that you recommend?
- We are happy to recommend the following local wedding vendors. Many of The Bridal Garden employees have used the following vendors and highly recommend them to you for your upcoming wedding. Just click on the link below.
